Rooster Davis specializes in the New Orleans piano traditions of players such as Dr. John, James Booker, Professor Longhair, and Alan Toussaint, and has created his own style that combines their influences with aspects of blues, funk, jazz, country, and rock.

As an organist he has appeared on many albums and tours as an Americana, country, soul, and blues player. He has seriously studied the Hammond organ, having worked in this regard with Hawksley Workman, country star Adam Gregory, Adam Cohen, Americana/roots artists Jack Marks, James Murdoch, soul/folk songwriter Ann Vriend, The Wheatpool, and others.

 Rooster is the former Musical Director/Bandleader for Canadian country music star Adam Gregory, whom he has toured with for seven years in Canada and the U.S., including opening for Alan Jackson, LeAnn Rimes, Keith Urban, and other country legends.

Rooster Davis has toured Western Europe three times, Australia twice, and has toured extensively in Canada. He has appeared in many festivals such as; Edmonton International Jazz Festival, Medicine Hat Jazz Festival, Beaumont Blues and Roots Festival, Pembina River Nights Festival, Porkapalooza, Edmonton Ice Festival, and the Calgary Blues Festival. His latest release, For Saints and Sinners, won best blues album, Edmonton Blues Society, nominated for Blues Album of the Year, Edmonton Music Awards,and his band, the Rooster Davis Group, won best band for the Memphis Blues Challenge in Northern Alberta. They went on to compete at the International Blues Challenge in Memphis in 2016, becoming the first band from Edmonton to make it to the semi-finals.

After competing in the International Blues Challenge in Memphis, the Rooster Davis Group was invited to perform an official showcase at the Toronto Blues Summit, 2017. RDG is already booked for the Medicine Hat Jazz Fest, Lethbridge Jazz Fest, the Kitchener Blues Festival (Ontario), and the Australian Blues and Roots Festival for 2017.
